Eric turned 3 a few weeks ago. He's obsessed with Thomas the Train, so I'm sure you can guess the theme of his party...and of his life. His little friend Madison and her family came to visit and they loved playing with the cake. My dad drove him around the kitchen for them. But it's hard for little kids not to touch toys or cake, and when combined temptation runs high. Finally Thomas was parked in the garage (oven) for safe keeping until dessert.
Eric opened presents, then we started to make dinner.
What is that smell coming from the oven?
Oh no, devastation! Thomas had not come out of the garage yet. Poor Thomas. It's a good thing Eric and Madison got to play with him so much earlier that day. The funny thing, Eric, who is super obsessive about every car being lined up in order, who thinks it's the end of the world when his cracker breaks, was just fine with Thomas' new look. Madison, on the other hand, was crushed. What a sweet girl. What a sad tale. But what a fun birthday. Eric had the best time, and his best friend got to be there. Well, both of them. Madison and Thomas.
